About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist on Linktree's Core Product Analytics team, you'll be central to understanding our product and guiding future development. You will translate user activity into actionable insights, partnering with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to define key metrics, design experiments, and address growth, retention, and monetization questions. You will establish analytical standards and build necessary datasets and models, contributing to Linktree's mission of empowering users to grow their digital universe.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and evolve Linktree's core product metrics and associated metric trees covering acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests and quasi-experiments on the core product, providing clear recommendations based on results.
  • Lead in-depth analyses on growth, retention, and revenue, proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Develop and maintain trusted datasets, dbt models, and dashboards for reliable self-serve product performance visibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Leads on roadmap prioritization, opportunity sizing, and success criteria for new features.
  • Establish and promote standards for experimentation, metric definitions, and analytical rigor across the company, mentoring others.
  • Communicate insights to product leadership and the executive team through clear, decision-ready narratives.

Requirements

  • 4-5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Product Analyst in a high-growth, product-led technology company.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of experiments, from quick tests to formal hypothesis tests, with a strong statistical foundation.
  • Advanced SQL and proficiency in Python (or R) for analysis and modeling, including building data pipelines and datasets.
  • Experience with modern data stacks (e.g., dbt, Dagster/Airflow, Snowflake/BigQuery) and BI tools (e.g., Hex, Looker).
  • Proven track record of defining product metrics and influencing product decisions with data.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments, self-scoping problems, and holding informed viewpoints with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex findings into clear recommendations for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or a related field (MS/PhD is a plus).
