About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to serve as a key execution partner across the Sports Media API portfolio, with a primary focus on U.S.-based sports products and content initiatives. This role involves turning portfolio strategy into action by defining requirements, managing priorities and backlogs, triaging product issues, coordinating delivery, and moving initiatives from discovery through launch. You will operate across multiple Sports Media products rather than being limited to a single sport or product line. A core responsibility will be supporting the day-to-day product ownership of major U.S. sports APIs and related content initiatives, including areas such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, NASCAR, and golf.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage product roadmaps and backlogs for assigned initiatives and capabilities.
- Translate product and content strategy into requirements, priorities, decisions, and delivered improvements.
- Partner closely with Engineering and data collection teams to diagnose issues, clarify requirements, establish priorities, and drive work to resolution.
- Work with customers, Support, Technical Success, Sales, and other stakeholders to understand customer problems and distinguish one-off requests from scalable product opportunities.
- Identify recurring API, customer, and operational issues and translate those patterns into product, tooling, monitoring, documentation, process, or data-quality improvements.
- Define and measure meaningful product KPIs across usage, customer behavior, support trends, product quality, and commercial performance.
- Support new content and third-party integrations by evaluating product fit, customer value, requirements, dependencies, and implementation tradeoffs.
- Contribute to product packaging, commercialization, and business cases when product decisions require an understanding of revenue, cost, customer demand, or investment tradeoffs.
- Clearly communicate product decisions, priorities, risks, tradeoffs, and status across technical, commercial, operational, and leadership audiences.
Requirements
- Demonstrated Product Management experience with direct ownership of products, product areas, or meaningful product initiatives.
- Strong understanding of customer discovery, prioritization, requirements definition, roadmaps, backlog management, delivery, and product lifecycle management.
- Strong execution skills and the ability to move comfortably between strategy and detailed delivery.
- Experience partnering closely with Engineering, data, or operational teams.
- Ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Working understanding of RESTful APIs and data-driven products.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using KPIs and customer signals to inform product decisions.
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or comparable product management tools and agile development practices.
- Interest in sports, sports media, data products, or technology-driven content experiences is strongly preferred.
