About the Role

TD's Analytics, Insights and Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team provides consultative support with data & analytics-based business insights and/or solutions to guide decision making and/or strategic planning. AI2 is an exciting team to be a part of as we are transforming how we provide key insights and opportunities for our business partners to better serve our customers. The Canadian Personal and Small Business Banking (CPSB) team supports the day-to-day activities of the CPSB businesses, working with business partners to address their analytics needs by providing end-to-end support of data, reporting, analytics, insights, and artificial intelligence solutions. We are seeking a Data Scientist III to lead AI adoption and AI-enabled process transformation for the CPSB AI2 team. The successful candidate will combine AI and analytics knowledge with process improvement, project leadership, and strong stakeholder influence to deliver practical, controlled, and measurable improvements in how the team works.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document existing end-to-end processes, pain points, controls, dependencies, and handoffs across teams.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to consolidate fragmented processes and establish clear current-state and future-state workflows.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to embed AI, automation, and analytics into business and data processes based on value, feasibility, risk, and adoption readiness.
  • Translate business opportunities into defined AI use cases, requirements, success measures, delivery plans, and change impacts.
  • Lead cross-functional AI adoption and transformation initiatives from discovery and proof of concept through implementation, validation, rollout, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop integrated project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decision points, and stakeholder accountabilities; provide clear status reporting and escalate issues when required.
  • Build alignment across business, technology, data, risk, privacy, and governance partners; influence stakeholders to make decisions, contribute resources, and adopt new ways of working.
  • Establish practical governance and quality controls so AI-enabled processes are responsible, traceable, testable, and sustainable, while tracking adoption, efficiency, quality, and business outcomes after implementation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in data science, computer science, engineering, statistics, business analytics, operations research, or a related quantitative field; graduate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, AI/automation delivery, process transformation, consulting, or cross-functional project leadership roles.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, natural language processing, AI assistants/agents, prompt design, and workflow automation, with the ability to select the right approach for a business problem.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using common data and machine-learning libraries and working in Databricks or a comparable cloud analytics platform.
  • Experience prototyping, testing, and operationalizing AI-enabled solutions, including evaluation criteria, human-in-the-loop controls, monitoring, documentation, and responsible AI considerations.
  • Experience integrating AI or automation with enterprise data, APIs, semantic models, reporting tools, and existing business workflows; Power BI experience is an asset.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills, including the ability to assess process performance, quantify opportunities, establish baselines, and measure adoption and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through implementation and adoption.
  • Skilled in process discovery and redesign methods, including stakeholder interviews, workshop facilitation, current-state/future-state mapping, root-cause analysis, use-case prioritization, and benefits definition.
  • Strong project planning and delivery skills, including scope, roadmap, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, governance, change impacts, and executive-level status reporting.
  • Ability to translate business problems into clear AI, data, process, and technical requirements, while balancing business value, feasibility, controls, and user experience.
  • Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment, resolve competing priorities, drive decisions, and secure cooperation across teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Excellent communicator and facilitator who can explain AI opportunities, limitations, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Structured, curious, and outcome-oriented, with strong judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge existing processes constructively, and manage multiple priorities.
