About the Role
Altana's AI Deployment team deploys our AI-powered product network within customer businesses, transforming engagements from contract signing to value realization. As an AI Deployment Strategist, you will define customer deployments, lead stakeholder discovery, identify opportunities for AI impact, and design solutions for AI Deployment Engineers. You will serve as the customer's strategic AI advisor and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
Responsibilities
- Map customer workflows, assess data, systems, and process maturity, and prioritize use cases for AI impact based on value, feasibility, and data readiness.
- Design end-to-end agentic AI solutions, including workflows, decision support, data integration, and human-in-the-loop processes, for AI Deployment Engineers.
- Draft prompts, system instructions, and evaluation criteria, and prototype solution concepts to validate approaches.
- Write solution designs, requirements, workflow maps, and acceptance criteria, and manage the solution through build, validation, and go-live.
- Define success metrics (adoption, decision quality, time saved, risk reduced), drive adoption through training, and build business cases for expansion.
- Partner with sales and customer success on scoping and expansion, provide feedback to product teams, and develop reusable solution patterns and templates.
Requirements
- 5+ years in customer-facing solutioning or advisory roles (solutions consulting, solution architecture, sales engineering, technical consulting, product management, or implementation with design scope).
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous customer problems into delivered solutions with external stakeholders under deadline pressure.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for diverse audiences (operators, executives, engineers).
- Product instincts and structured thinking, focusing on the smallest effective solution and making progress with incomplete information.
- A bias towards creating repeatable solutions.
- Strong working understanding of agentic AI systems (LLM-powered agents, tool/function calling, RAG, human-in-the-loop design) and their practical limitations.
- Hands-on skill with prompt design and evaluation, including diagnosing and fixing agent output issues.
- Comfort with SQL for data exploration and validation.
- Ability to read API documentation (REST, Swagger/OpenAPI) and data models for integration scoping.
- Daily, practical use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Claude Code, Cursor).
- Sufficient understanding of data pipelines, cloud-hosted systems, and ML systems to judge feasibility (production coding not required).
