About the Role
The Senior Communication Designer transforms complex, sensitive technology into understandable, memorable, and actionable stories. This role involves collaborating with various teams to craft compelling presentations and materials for diverse audiences, including executives, customers, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Work with subject matter experts to extract essential ideas from various sources.
- Partner with Communications and Business Development to ensure messaging consistency.
- Validate technical content with its owners and challenge unclear approaches.
- Develop visual concepts for presentations using typography, composition, pacing, and hierarchy.
- Create diagrams, charts, and timelines that clarify technical concepts accurately.
- Integrate graphics, photography, renders, illustration, video, and motion.
- Adapt presentation depth and structure for different audiences and formats.
- Work within the established brand system and contribute to its expansion.
- Build editable templates and asset libraries for non-designers.
- Handle proprietary and export-controlled content according to company policy.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Finance, and People teams on presentation needs.
- Manage projects from intake through delivery, ensuring accuracy and clear communication.
- Support live delivery for executive and keynote presentations as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in communication, presentation, information, or brand design.
- Substantial presentation work and a record of leading complex, high-visibility projects.
- A portfolio showcasing excellent visual craft and the ability to simplify complex information.
- Strong editorial judgment to identify and emphasize key points.
- Experience working directly with technical experts, senior stakeholders, and business development or sales teams.
- Experience handling sensitive, proprietary, or controlled information.
- Excellent typography, layout, data visualization, and diagramming skills.
- Experience designing within an established brand system and creating reusable templates.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Figma.
- Comfort in a fast-moving environment with evolving workflows.
- Genuine interest in aerospace, defense, or national security.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual due to export regulations.
