About the Role
This role supports the profitable growth and governance of delegated underwriting arrangements by combining underwriting judgment with data-led portfolio insight and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage delegated arrangements, including underwriting existing deals, endorsements, and new proposals.
- Assess opportunities by reviewing submissions, contract documentation, due diligence, and financial information.
- Oversee governance by monitoring underwriting activity and ensuring compliance with terms and frameworks.
- Analyze portfolio performance using data, analytics, and AI tools to identify risks and opportunities.
- Build effective partnerships with Actuarial, Delegated Underwriting, ECM, Compliance, Finance, and brokers.
Requirements
- Sound understanding of insurance underwriting theories and practices, ideally within delegated or portfolio underwriting.
- Experience assessing portfolio performance, identifying underwriting issues, and making recommendations.
- Understanding of underwriting governance, due diligence, and referral processes.
- Experience in Portfolio Solutions, delegated underwriting, or Property portfolios within the Lloyd’s market is advantageous.
- Familiarity with placement platforms such as PPL and Whitespace is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and escalate issues appropriately.
