About the Role
The Field Applications Engineer will support successful sales conversion by assisting with pre-sales activities, formulating product specifications based on customer needs, and providing post-sales support to ensure smooth production entry. This role also involves designing and delivering technical field training materials and sessions for the sales team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing product details and sales/service requests while providing technical support to customers.
- Analyze system problems, identify technical resolutions, and implement fixes.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product management teams to gather application usage and product information.
- Prepare technical proposal elements and define technical solution guidelines for the sales team.
- Assist customers with product evaluations and provide necessary simulation models.
- Identify discrepancies between established and customer results, recommending modifications.
- Troubleshoot system applications, resolve engineering issues, and follow up with customers to identify new sales opportunities.
- Prepare product presentation materials and conduct training sessions for new products and services.
- Support the sales team in organizing product demonstrations and training.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and systems applications teams to design application systems and define product specifications.
- Review customer design drawings and schematics to ensure compliance with company guidelines and recommend performance improvements.
- Verify customer Bill-of-Materials (BOM) for correct component selection.
- Provide technical market intelligence and support corporate strategy for future product development.
- Evaluate customer system application requirements and administer technical, technological, and functional aspects of proposals.
- Assist with performing tests and installation procedures, preparing project specification schedules, and researching market trends.
- Analyze emerging trends to recommend new application engineering products.
- Set up demo systems for seminars, conferences, and meetings to promote applications and ensure system performance.
- Provide technical training on developmental application engineering products to branch personnel.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer failure analysis and applications support.
Requirements
- Ability to interact with customers at various levels including Engineering, FAE, Sales, Procurement, Product Management Supply Chain, and C-level.
- Strong team spirit, proactive, and professional attitude.
- Ability to work in a global and diverse environment.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written fluency in English.
- Domestic and international travel up to 20%.
