About the Role
Operate and maintain large format flatbed printers, roll printers, vinyl plotters, and laminators to produce high-quality printed materials and signage. This role requires attention to detail, organization, basic graphic design knowledge, and proficiency in color matching.
Responsibilities
- Operate large format flatbed printers and roll printers to produce high-quality graphics and signage.
- Use vinyl plotters to cut vinyl graphics accurately.
- Utilize laminators to apply protective coatings to prints.
- Apply vinyl graphics to substrates, ensuring precise alignment and adhesion.
- Perform touch-ups on printed materials to correct errors or defects.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure final products meet design intents and specifications.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on printers and plotters.
- Contact service technicians for repairs and maintenance when necessary.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment malfunctions.
- Organize and manage digital files, ensuring artwork and production files are accessible and up to date.
- Maintain spreadsheets and documentation related to production schedules, job status, and inventory levels.
- Assist in preparing files for production, ensuring specifications are met and deadlines are adhered to.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Proficiency in operating large format printers, vinyl plotters, and laminating equipment.
- Basic graphic design knowledge and experience with design software are preferred (e.g., Corel, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage files and spreadsheets effectively.
- Familiarity with signage printing processes and color management is a plus.
