About the Role
Lloyd’s List Intelligence is seeking a Data Services Manager to lead an existing team, driving solutions and making impactful changes. This role requires a hands-on approach, experience in a high-performing Agile environment, and the ability to query and deliver large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Leading the existing Data Services team and driving the team forward with the ability to make change.
- Working closely with customers, sales, validation, and technology to deliver data solutions according to SLAs.
- Constructing advanced SQL queries to retrieve data from relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, Snowflake.
- Writing queries to extract from NoSQL data stores like OpenSearch, MongoDB.
- Understanding REST APIs for querying as well as delivering data.
- Constructing simple scripts using Python or similar languages to aid ETL processes.
- Managing a global data-focused team.
- Driving team and individual objectives according to KPIs.
- Utilizing first-hand experience of Agile and running a backlog using both Kanban and Sprints.
- Troubleshooting problems and finding solutions using own initiative.
- Attending meetings (in person and remote) with customers to provide technical expertise and answer questions on implementations.
Requirements
- Experience managing a global data focused team.
- First-hand experience of Agile and running a backlog using both Kanban and Sprints.
- Team player who brings positive energy, passion, and can work with different areas of the business, with an understanding of SLAs.
- Ability to use own initiative to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
- Highly organised and attentive to detail with a can-do attitude and the ability to manage concurrent tasks.
- Confident individual happy to attend meetings (in person and remote) with customers to provide technical expertise and help answer questions on implementations.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Domain knowledge or experience working within the maritime or an adjacent industry.
- Experience working in a startup or PE/Scale-Up.
