About the Role

We're hiring a Sales Development Manager to run the team that calls provider offices on behalf of the pharmacies we work with. This role is critical in ensuring patients receive their medications promptly by facilitating communication between pharmacies and prescriber offices. You will own the team's speed, capacity, response rate, and contribute to improving the calling tools.

Responsibilities

  • Run the team: Hire, train, coach, and schedule callers.
  • Set the daily cadence, listen to calls, and give feedback.
  • Make calls yourself, especially early on.
  • Decide when to add headcount or bring in outside help, with the numbers to back it.
  • Own the calling metrics: capacity against demand, time from task to first call, callback response time, reach rate, and response rate.
  • Report metrics weekly and explain what moved.
  • Own call scripts and talking points for different kinds of offices, and test changes.
  • Work with our growth marketing lead so phone and digital touches work together on the same offices.
  • Work with engineering on the calling tool: identify what slows callers down, what data is missing, and what to fix first.

Requirements

  • Managed an outbound calling team (SDR, inside sales, patient access, or similar) with phone as a main channel.
  • Hired and coached callers.
  • Run a team on numbers (activity, speed to lead, connect rate, conversion).
  • Good on the phone; able to get past a front desk politely and get a busy office to act.
  • Build process: fixed a queue, written a playbook, or set up a workflow in a CRM or dialer.
  • Given useful feedback to whoever built the tool.
  • Quantitative fluency; able to break a funnel into its steps and identify issues.
  • Fast and self-directed; take direction well, then run with it.
  • Ability to pick up a complex domain quickly.
  • Startup experience is a strong plus.
  • Phone outreach in healthcare (specialty pharmacy, hub services, revenue cycle, or a medical office) is a bonus.
  • Early hire at a high-growth or early-stage startup is a bonus.
  • Experience with AI voice agents or modern dialer tooling is a bonus.
  • Not looking to manage managers or a large org right away.
  • Willing to make calls yourself, especially early on.
  • Comfortable building processes and tools.
  • Focus on outbound calling, not digital channels.
