About the Role

We are seeking an experienced offensive security engineer to identify and exploit vulnerabilities across cloud, infrastructure, and application layers. This role involves applying offensive security testing to contain and evaluate frontier AI models, running engagements against our evaluation and research infrastructure, and building agent-assisted red-teaming harnesses. You will collaborate with engineers and research teams, with opportunities to publish and present your work externally.

Responsibilities

  • Attacking evaluation sandboxes, including container and VM escape, egress controls, and attacking the evaluation host from inside the sandbox.
  • Finding vulnerabilities in our open-source evaluation framework and supporting infrastructure, and coordinating fixes and disclosure.
  • Building, operating, and maintaining agent-assisted red-teaming harnesses end to end.
  • Running agent-assisted harnesses and manual testing against new sandbox and evaluation infrastructure releases.
  • Triaging and proving findings, separating real issues from noise, and confirming real issues with working exploits.
  • Comparing agent and human red-teaming effectiveness and feeding learnings back into tooling.
  • Planning and running scoped engagements against cloud, identity, model-access paths, and research platforms.
  • Assisting in building and hardening cyber ranges, reviewing evaluation tasks, and providing human baselines.
  • Scoping and reviewing external penetration tests.
  • Ensuring model-assisted offensive work adheres to internal safety governance and approval processes.
  • Publishing research, writing blog posts, and giving talks on sandbox security and AI-assisted offensive work.

Requirements

  • Substantial hands-on offensive security experience in red teaming, penetration testing, vulnerability research, or exploit development.
  • Depth in at least two of: cloud and infrastructure (AWS preferred), container/VM/sandbox escape, application security, vulnerability research and exploit development.
  • Strong Python and/or another language such as Go, Rust, or C, with a track record of writing and maintaining tools.
  • Experience testing live systems safely.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including communicating findings that engineers can act on.
  • Ability to get issues fixed in teams not directly managed.
  • A serious interest in the direction of frontier AI and motivation to help make it safe.
