About the Role
The lead cashier oversees the cashier team, ensuring efficient operations at the checkout counter. They handle guest transactions, resolve issues, and prioritize friendly, efficient, and accurate guest service to exceed expectations and foster brand loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Operate registers and perform general checkout functions.
- Ensure a speedy checkout.
- Provide clear direction and support for an efficient register complex environment.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency for fast price check inquiries and completing sales.
- Be aware of potential theft and alert Loss Prevention.
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
- Understand cash register operations and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Communicate and address guest conflicts, providing resolution.
- Assist cashiers with requests such as price checks.
- Ensure line control and speedy checkout.
- Supervise the self-checkout area.
- Ensure breaks are taken as scheduled and staffing meets business needs.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Speak and listen generously, leaving people feeling heard, respected, and honored.
- Be friendly, helpful, and able to assist guests with a variety of needs.
- Be careful and thorough in completing tasks to avoid errors.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

- Previous Sales / retail experience
