About the Role
Join Xanadu's Lab Operations Team to support R&D operations by maintaining critical equipment and infrastructure. This role is essential for enabling the development of world-changing quantum computing technology.
Responsibilities
- Support R&D operations by maintaining equipment such as air drying and vacuum systems, HVAC systems, and 3D printers.
- Serve on a rapid response team for lab and facility issues.
- Establish and document standard operating and maintenance procedures.
- Set up, maintain, and manage pneumatic and compressed air infrastructure.
- Assemble receiver tanks with safety components.
- Install rigid pneumatic lines with connecting hardware.
- Service multi-stage air drying systems and filters.
- Size mechanical hardware and fittings for flow and pressure needs.
- Troubleshoot, rebuild, and integrate lab vacuum pumps.
- Clean and organize the lab.
- Perform upgrades on machines/systems.
- Assist in building and setting up equipment (racks, tables, machines, etc.).
- Assist teams with tasks (e.g., polishing, gold plating, soldering).
Requirements
- College level, apprenticeship or equivalent documented industrial maintenance experience.
- Proven background in setup, maintenance, and expansion of air compressors and pneumatic distribution networks.
- Proven expertise and strong safety awareness when operating high-pressure compressed air systems and vacuum lines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting technical diagrams and choosing mechanical hardware aligned with pressure specifications, flow metrics, and thread standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a positive attitude towards work.
- Able to work independently.
- Highly motivated and eager to learn.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing skills for creating high-quality documentation.
- Experience in a rapidly growing environment where priorities can change quickly.
