About the Role
Build and run the core backend service our product teams rely on, from its APIs and persistence layer to email, user provisioning, and cross-tenant capabilities for large enterprises. Your work will reach over 20,000 people who use our Purchase-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash agents daily. You will join the Platform Team of about 10 engineers, focusing on the core of our product: shared services, data access layer, and design system. In your first year, you will own one core area end-to-end, from the service to the customer.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve the core APIs behind document processing, approval workflows, administration, and analytics.
- Own the persistence layer, evolving the abstraction for tenant isolation, transactions, and permissions.
- Extend cross-tenant capabilities for managing users, permissions, and documents across multiple subsidiaries.
- Own email document ingestion and outbound email services, including audit trails and UI.
- Develop migration tools and admin UIs for self-service setup of SSO and SCIM.
- Participate in customer onboarding calls to understand setup needs and improve tooling.
- Own features end-to-end, from the Go service and React UI to production, including observability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, primarily building and operating backend systems in production.
- 2+ years of professional Go experience with production services.
- Experience designing a reliable and evolvable backend service or API depended on by other teams.
- Ability to work effectively across teams, aligning on contracts, priorities, and rollouts.
- Skill in incrementally improving existing production systems and assessing rewrite viability.
- Strong fundamentals in type systems, composition, testing, and clean architecture.
- Comfort working in a codebase built on functional patterns.
- Full-stack capability to ship admin UIs quickly using frontend components and design systems.
- Product-oriented thinking, translating business problems into specifications, weighing cost/benefit, and taking ownership.
- Experience with distributed systems, Kubernetes, Temporal, or cloud infrastructure (strong plus).
- Experience with user provisioning (SCIM) and SSO (OIDC) (strong plus).
- Experience running multi-tenant systems (strong plus).
- Domain knowledge in ERP, finance, procurement, or supply chain processes (strong plus).
- German language skills (strong plus).
