About the Role
The Service Engineer is the primary point of contact for existing customers, responsible for successful installations and providing fast, constructive service for Confocal NL imaging systems. This role involves sharing knowledge, building trust, and helping users maximize the potential of their systems, while also addressing issues and tailoring configurations for specific applications.
Responsibilities
- Preparing for Confocal NL imaging system installations.
- Installing and assisting in the installation of Confocal NL and partners’ products, including hardware and software.
- Leading a collaborative project on extracellular vesicle (EV) analysis, including algorithm development and performance evaluation.
- Performing quality control on Confocal NL imaging systems.
- Evaluating and resolving customer tickets concerning Confocal NL imaging systems.
- Building tailor-made optical setups and developing sample-preparation protocols for specific experiments.
Requirements
- Holds a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree or has good engineering experience.
- Strong Python programming skills, with a focus on data analysis.
- Flexible and creative in problem-solving.
- Well organized in documentation and planning.
- Ability to work independently when required.
- Prepared to travel for installations or repairs, including working in different time zones.
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Possession of a category B driver’s license.
- Ability to independently set up imaging systems weighing around 20 kg.
- Experience with C++ programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with operating a microscope and image acquisition software is a plus.
- Experience with imaging systems from different manufacturers (e.g. Leica, Nikon, Olympus, and Zeiss) is a plus.
- Good listener, rational thinker, and hands-on worker.
- Ability to interpret issues and translate them into technical terms.
- Interest in understanding Confocal NL’s product portfolio.
- Down-to-earth attitude, clear mind, and good planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
