About the Role
GitGuardian is seeking an individual to join the Incidents team, focusing on the delivery of projects and features from conception to completion. This role involves tackling complex engineering challenges, particularly in application and backend performance, integrating AI into production, and contributing to the growth of the engineering department through code reviews and mentorship. The position also requires involvement in transverse discussions, design document reviews, and participation in support and deployments.
Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of projects and features end to end.
- Collaborate with PM and other engineers to develop efficient and resilient solutions.
- Own product decisions.
- Tackle complex engineering problems, focusing on application and backend performance.
- Investigate, fix, and improve application and backend systems.
- Bring AI to production within the product.
- Utilize AI in personal workflows for increased efficiency.
- Level up the engineering department by reviewing code, mentoring junior developers, and proposing new conventions.
- Be involved in transverse discussions, including reviewing design documents and participating in cross-team discussions about the tech stack.
- Take part in support and deployments when on duty.
Requirements
- Match at least 70% of the essential criteria.
- 5+ years of web software development experience.
- Strong Python knowledge.
- Experience with web application development.
- Experience with task orchestration.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- Experience managing big data flows.
- Autonomous and proactive.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Methodical and objective approach to problem-solving.
- Team player, willing to help colleagues.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Ability to adapt communication style to be high-level or deep dive.
- Utilize AI in daily development workflow (coding assistants and agents).
- Expertise with Django (preferred).
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript (preferred).
- Experience bringing LLM-based features to production (preferred).
- Track record of working with a large monolithic codebase and understanding architecture best practices in such environments (preferred).
