About the Role
As a Ticket Seller for Captain Cook Cruises on Sydney Harbour, you will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their experience. This role involves engaging with people from diverse backgrounds, providing advice on cruises and packages, and ensuring smooth operations at ticketing locations.
Responsibilities
- Sell ferry and cruise tickets using point-of-sale systems, handling EFTPOS accurately and securely.
- Advise guests on timetables, directions, and boarding.
- Engage with guests and ensure they feel looked after.
- Recommend cruises, packages, and special offers.
- Manage queues and coordinate with operational teams for vessel turnarounds and departures.
- Set up, pack down, and maintain the tidiness of the ticketing area.
- Work safely, wear uniform with pride, and report hazards.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience in a busy, face-to-face setting is highly regarded.
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, or transport is desired.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy periods.
- Attention to detail in managing timetables and transactions.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Comfort working independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Flexibility to rotate across wharf locations, including weekends and public holidays.
