About the Role
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Sydney Executive Team, providing strategic commercial, financial, and operational insights that drive performance and value creation. Partner closely with executive stakeholders and business leaders to deliver commercial advice, performance insights, and strategic support. Play a key role in shaping the future of commercial finance at The Star Sydney, supporting business transformation and influencing strategic outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial and financial advice to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Partner with senior leaders to strengthen commercial capability and financial discipline.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial finance team.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to drive performance and achieve strategic objectives.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and margin improvement through commercial analysis and execution.
- Drive process improvement opportunities across commercial finance, leveraging technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Partner with Property and Finance teams to enhance reporting quality, consistency, and business insights.
- Lead performance reviews, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide commercial and financial input into contractual and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, including Excel and planning/reporting systems (TM1 or similar).
- Hands-on approach with the ability to perform data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and driving continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Casino or gaming industry experience highly regarded but not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related commercial discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in financial or commercial management within a large organization.
- Special Employee (SE) licence with ILGA/OLGR approval is required.
