About the Role
Qualcomm's Data Center business unit is developing state-of-the-art AI inference and CPU products. As a Chipset Project Engineer, you will plan and execute chipsets from concept to commercialization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time product launches.
Responsibilities
- Leverage expert knowledge of Data Center chipsets to influence and oversee chipset development, ensuring chips perform their intended functions and associated software/firmware.
- Oversee the resolution of all engineering issues on the chipset, whether within a specific subsystem or across multiple subsystems, functions, and components.
- Outline schedules, costs, requirements, and KPIs (e.g., power, performance, reliability) from concept to commercialization.
- Influence the development of new methodologies for verification of KPIs (performance, power, and quality) for all chipset components.
- Provide technical oversight to teams conducting hardware, software, or systems-level testing, verification, and validation to ensure project plans and specifications are met.
- Set guidelines for writing detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions, and write and review documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 10+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 9+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in one or more areas of semiconductor product development (e.g., system design, architecture, HW design and validation, SW development).
- 5+ years of experience balancing tradeoffs between product KPIs and costs.
- 5+ years of experience managing project costs.
- 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
- 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership.
