About the Role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. We are seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop and implement high-fidelity, automated test processes for subsea robotics, ensuring high quality and scalability in production.

Responsibilities

  • Build a broad range of test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, including PCBA bring-up, electrical box/bottle bring-up, system-level checkouts, and acceptance testing for key components.
  • Develop, execute, and manage a test ecosystem to de-risk hardware and ensure product meets target reliability levels and design intent.
  • Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain semi-automated testing equipment and protocols for subsystem characterization and testing.
  • Diagnose production test issues hands-on as the first point of contact for test technicians, isolating failure modes and collaborating with Electrical Design and Software when escalation is needed.
  • Collaborate with the design/systems team throughout product development cycles to perform risk assessments, maintain ownership of test deployment activities in production, oversee technician training, and manage bug fixes/improvements.
  • Produce and maintain testing logs/data, and develop a library of error codes with troubleshooting logic/diagrams for fast issue resolution.
  • Generate controlled test instructions for technician teams in MES or other test execution systems.
  • Optimize test design and execution of full system “end of line” factory acceptance test (FAT) of AUVs.
  • Design and execute tests for PCBA and electrical system components, including hands-on testing and rework as necessary.

Requirements

  • Degree in Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechatronic or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in hardware testing and automated test systems (LabVIEW, Test Stand, etc.).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, SHELL, or others.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably test design of electro-mechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Well-versed with complex electromechanical systems and passionate about understanding what it takes to make them work reliably.
  • Experience developing full system test plans and executing them on fast-paced product development timelines.
  • Experience with programming/testing a wide range of sensors, actuators, and electrical components.
  • Ability to prototype and run own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV2 Security Clearance (Australian citizen).
