About the Role

SoftPro is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead teams for a new SaaS product initiative. This role involves building and maintaining high-performing software development teams, collaborating with Product Owners and Scrum Masters, and reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and continuously improve a modern, Azure-centric SDLC with a focus on agile delivery, DevOps automation and CI/CD.
  • Enforce high engineering standards through code reviews with a relentless focus on technical excellence and secure-by-default design.
  • Drive the adoption of Azure-native tools for observability, resilience, and deployment (e.g., Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, AKS).
  • Participate in the implementation of Generative AI Assisted / Agentic Coding approaches in our Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Lead teams that are a mix of on- and nearshore (LATAM/Eastern Europe) resources.
  • Own the team’s delivery process—from work intake and planning to quality assurance and deployment—ensuring transparency, accountability, and predictable outcomes.
  • Eliminate friction in developer workflows by streamlining tooling, reducing unnecessary meetings, and fostering deep focus time.
  • Encourage experimentation, continuous refactoring, and automation to reduce toil and increase velocity.
  • Make timely decisions, communicate proactively, and adjust quickly to changing priorities without compromising quality or morale.
  • Lead the team through tight timelines while maintaining a sustainable pace and a can-do attitude.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other Development Managers, Product Managers and Architects to deliver a solution that not only works, but delights.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, including deep knowledge of the Microsoft stack: .NET, C#, SQL Server, and cloud-native Azure services, as well as modern front-end frameworks, such as angular.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with applications utilizing microservices on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or equivalent container orchestration platforms.
  • Direct experience with utilizing Artificial Intelligence based development and testing tools through the SDLC, including Agentic coding tools and novel approaches to SDLC such as specification based development.
  • Proven ability to implement and act on engineering effectiveness metrics (e.g., DORA, SPACE) to improve quality, speed, and developer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated passion for engineering leadership, with a balance of technical credibility and strong people skills.
  • Experience driving test automation, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and secure development practices using Azure DevOps, Git, and Terraform.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to align engineering efforts with product goals, customer feedback, and business priorities.
