About the Role
As a Junior Contract Drafter, you will create, develop, and maintain reinsurance contract documentation. You will use your knowledge of insurance/reinsurance concepts to assist broker teams with various projects.
Responsibilities
- Draft reinsurance contracts, interests and liabilities agreements, and related documents in coordination with brokers, clients, and reinsurers.
- Interpret and assess contracts and perform quality assurance review to ensure contract wording reflects the intent of reinsurance negotiations.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues, brokers, clients, and reinsurers regarding reinsurance concepts and contract language application.
- Participate in Request for Proposal and sales presentations by recommending coverage and wording enhancements.
- Promote, build, and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and reinsurers.
- Understand issues, resolve problems, and review working practices.
- Participate in department meetings to share opinions, ideas, knowledge, and solutions, and work to maintain best practices.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four Year College Degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent experience
- Law Degree (J.D.) helpful but not required
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience with reinsurance contracts
- Legally authorized to work in the US

- Extensive MS Word experience and expertise
- Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Office products
