About the Role
Origin's Legal team is seeking a senior commercial lawyer to advise on agreements for existing assets and development projects within the growing generation and storage portfolio. You will join the Legal Operations & Development team, reporting to the Group Legal Manager for Construction & Sourcing, and will have ownership of your matters.
Responsibilities
- Advise on infrastructure, development, and electricity connection agreements for generation and storage assets and projects.
- Advise on energy tender processes and resulting contracts, including the Commonwealth Capacity Investment Scheme, REZ access rights, LTESAs, State or Federal capacity schemes, and commercial arrangements with government entities.
- Manage Origin’s interests in joint ventures, including operating and shareholders agreements and practical implementation.
- Ensure external lawyers provide practical, efficient, and good-value advice.
Requirements
- Australian-admitted lawyer with a current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one).
- 10+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) and strong commercial law experience.
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Sound judgement, good negotiation skills, and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and work independently while being a team member.
