About the Role
Join Crusoe as a Data Scientist on the central Data Science and Engineering team. This full-time position allows you to own the data and analytics function for key business areas, starting with the Data Center Infrastructure Group (DIG), which builds and operates data centers. You will partner directly with business stakeholders, translate their needs into analytical work, and own the reporting and data quality that leadership depends on for critical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own reporting and dashboard creation and maintenance for business leaders.
- Partner with leaders across construction, real estate, energy, and procurement to gather requirements and deliver analytical insights.
- Drive new data integrations by working with data engineering to onboard data from third-party enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain tracking for project progress, cost burn-down, timelines, and financial performance for large infrastructure projects.
- Translate business requirements into technical or techno-functional specifications for data engineers.
- Support Master Data Management by ensuring consistency and accuracy of master data across systems.
- Champion data quality by identifying gaps, investigating root causes, and working with data engineers to implement fixes.
Requirements
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets across multiple source systems.
- Experience with a modern data stack (BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, or equivalents).
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports for operational use.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Sigma, Looker, Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven experience working directly with business partners to gather requirements and deliver data products.
- Track record of taking accountability for data accuracy and proactively identifying issues.
- Background in construction, manufacturing, supply chain, or other operationally complex industries is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar) is a plus.
- Familiarity with master data management concepts and cross-system entity resolution is a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-growing company where processes are still being built is a plus.
- Python for data analysis is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
