About the Role
Provide the full scope of primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and care coordination. This role may involve a focus on internal medicine or family medicine and may include a Harvard Medical School appointment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
- Order or execute diagnostic tests, analyses, and images.
- Analyze reports and findings to diagnose patient conditions.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic diseases and injuries.
- Administer or prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with statutes and guidelines.
- Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Prepare required records and reports.
- Counsel patients and families on diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and clinical meetings.
- Make referrals to specialists when appropriate.
- Support BIDHC culture and promote team-based patient care.
Requirements
- Physician will generally have a focus on either internal medicine or family medicine.
- A Harvard Medical School appointment at the Lecturer or Instructor level may be applied for commensurate with academic qualifications.
