About the Role

As an IT Administrator, you will ensure a secure, efficient, and scalable work environment for a growing, remote-first, SaaS-based company with over 600,000 monthly users. This newly created role focuses on building and scaling automated, documented processes rather than manual management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT inquiries from all employees via Slack and Google Meet.
  • Set up and revoke accounts, groups, and permissions for new and departing employees.
  • Independently manage access requests based on clear role and need-to-know principles.
  • Oversee the procurement, setup, and shipping of hardware, including Apple MacBooks and accessories, and manage returns and inventory.
  • Automate recurring processes.
  • Support teams in introducing new tools, including security evaluations, setup, and SSO integration.
  • Conduct access reviews and clean up unnecessary rights, shared accounts, and orphaned permissions.
  • Maintain asset and license inventory and optimize SaaS costs.
  • Document processes and policies, build self-service documentation in Notion, and provide compliance evidence.
  • Take ownership of this area and report directly to the CTO, collaborating closely with the People & Culture Team and Hiring Managers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in IT Administration or IT Operations, preferably in a cloud-first or SaaS company with 50-500 employees.
  • Education as a System Integration IT Specialist, a degree in (Business) Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
  • Career changers are welcome if they have demonstrable practical experience with Google Workspace, Mac fleets, and SSO; formal titles are secondary.
  • Experience in pure on-premise or Windows server environments without SaaS relevance is not helpful.
  • Fluent in English and German.

Skills

  • Administration of Google Workspace (users, groups, Drive sharing, security policies, admin roles)
  • Management of macOS devices with Apple Business and an MDM
  • Identity & Access Management for SaaS tools (SSO - SAML/OIDC, 2FA enforcement, role-based access)
  • Automation of recurring tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Google Apps Script) or low-code (e.g., n8n)
  • Solid understanding of security principles (Least Privilege, secure onboarding/offboarding, password management)
  • SCIM provisioning and HR-driven workflows (Personio)
  • Experience with 1Password, Slack, or Notion administration
  • Experience with Identity Providers like Okta or JumpCloud
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 or comparable security frameworks, ideally in a regulated environment
  • Network and VPN fundamentals (e.g., NordLayer) and device compliance
  • Experience with AI tools for IT process automation
