About the Role
Rochester Academy of Science (RocSci) is seeking a dependable and flexible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction and support student learning when the regular teacher is absent. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, positive, and productive learning environment while following lesson plans and school policies.
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher.
- Provide instruction and support student learning in accordance with established lesson plans.
- Maintain classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
- Supervise students and ensure their safety throughout the school day.
- Follow school policies, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate classroom records as needed.
- Communicate classroom concerns, student behavior issues, and other relevant information to school administration.
- Support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Must complete all required pre-employment documentation and background clearance requirements before beginning employment.
- Must comply with all school policies, procedures, and applicable New York State education requirements.

Salary/Compensations
- $32,000.00 - $32,000.01 Salary/year
