About the Role

Provide hands-on technical expertise to multiple PV plant sites for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. This role requires specific electrical skills and technical expertise in PV array, inverter, medium voltage, and battery storage (BESS). Responsibilities include regular maintenance, equipment repairs/installations, training, and contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

Maintain, diagnose, and repair system failures on existing solar sites.
Identify and correct potential issues that may impact site performance.
Perform equipment assessments, diagnosis, and modifications.
Develop solutions to site operations issues and communicate with operations teams.
Diagnose/troubleshoot equipment failures and perform preventative maintenance.
Qualify equipment and systems for use or replacement, including warranty matters.
Install, remove, maintain, and direct the maintenance of solar, BESS, and related electrical equipment.
Ensure a safe work environment through adherence to protocols, safety procedures, and regulations.
Provide leadership and oversight for safety results, including lock-out/tag-out compliance and contractor oversight.
Prepare and review service tickets and reports for site visits, repairs, and investigations.
Provide timely and complete reports, written and oral communication.
Communicate with customers, engineers, technicians, project managers, and sub-contractors for timely resolution of activities and maintenance requirements.

Requirements

1+ years of electrical experience with an electrical license.

Skills

Electrical skills
Technical expertise in PV array, inverter, medium voltage, and battery storage (BESS)
Knowledge of National Electrical Code
Understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
Ability to read construction/DAS/design drawings or permitting documentation
Knowledge of electric and related utilities and utility maintenance
Knowledge of solar energy installation, maintenance, and optimization
IT/networking skills: familiarity with RS485, Modbus, tcp/ip
Thermography
CPR/First Aid
Verbal communication skills
