You will join a leading international communications team responsible for conveying the Forum’s mission and messages and engaging global audiences in its work.
Responsibilities
- Advising on and delivering media strategies that grow the Forum’s impact in the U.S. and globally, including technology, AI, sustainability, financial and institutional priorities, with an ambition to increase interviews and coverage.
- Developing proactive storylines, messages and pitching strategies; identifying appropriate spokespeople; and translating complex Forum work into clear, newsworthy narratives.
- Maintaining and expanding relationships with regional, national and international media, including mainstream outlets, trade press, broadcasters, digital publishers, media influencers and technology journalists, with particular attention to the Silicon Valley and wider Bay Area ecosystem.
- Developing and managing media partnerships with broadcasters, print and digital outlets for Forum events, research and campaigns, and coordinating Forum activities with media and relevant constituents.
- Leading high-quality media content such as press releases, media advisories, media kits, newsletters, press-conference structures and opinion pieces around Forum milestones and research.
- Managing interview requests and media enquiries; maintaining a media database mapped to Forum topics including technology, AI, urban governance, sustainability, energy, environment and finance.
- Preparing regular media analysis and monitoring U.S. coverage from New York to San Francisco, using insight to inform the Media Engagement team and Forum leadership.
- Using media monitoring, analytics and digital marketing tools—including CMS, Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent platforms—to support distribution, campaigns and decision-making.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, international relations or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in media relations, public relations, communications, journalism, research or a similar field, ideally in an international or mission-led organization.
- Established media network and strong knowledge of the U.S. media landscape, particularly technology, AI, business and innovation media and journalists in Silicon Valley, San Francisco and other major U.S. markets.
- Excellent knowledge of current affairs and the evolving media environment, with the judgement to identify relevant opportunities and manage reputational sensitivities.
- Outstanding written and verbal English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Strong organizational, project-management and digital skills.
