About the Role

The Sort Capacity Manager is responsible for network-wide capacity de-risking for the Sort organization. This role involves building and maintaining a constraint model to define 'de-risked capacity' across all facilities, considering factors like dock door availability, floor space, throughput, and labor/automation optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Own the network constraint model, modeling site capacity against constraints such as dock door availability, floor/pallet-position space, maximum throughput, and optimal labor hours.
  • Govern spoke capacity data by driving maintenance in the sort app and ensuring product reflects current facility configurations.
  • Own the zip-to-facility strategy, including mapping and re-optimization based on volume and rate shifts.
  • Own device and consumable readiness by forecasting needs against site growth to prevent reactive procurement.
  • Scope hub-to-spoke routing opportunities and build business cases for direct routing.
  • Close forecasting product gaps by identifying deficiencies and driving fixes with Data/Product partners.
  • Own the end-to-end Mx launch, including CET allocation and negotiating trade-offs.

Requirements

  • Strategic model ownership: Experience building and owning a capacity, forecasting, or network constraint model that became a standing input to planning.
  • Independent judgment: Ability to identify bottlenecks across a large, multi-site network without a pre-scoped problem statement.
  • Cross-functional negotiation: Experience negotiating trade-offs with senior stakeholders and influencing capital-adjacent decisions.
  • Physical operations fluency: Deep understanding of physical warehouse operations to translate constraints into a model.
  • Executive communication: Ability to clearly and concisely communicate trade-offs and risks to senior leadership.
  • Consideration for employment of qualified applicants, including those with arrest and conviction records, in accordance with applicable regulations.
