About the Role
This role is responsible for the administration and implementation of physical and virtual hardware platforms, as well as compliance, governance, security, development, and maintenance lifecycle of several systems across the organization. It offers an opportunity to work with enterprise technology and provides structured career progression within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations, including BAU tickets (Incidents, Work Orders, Problems, BAU Improvements) and project work on a rotation basis.
- Gain understanding of the IT estate, support daily operational meetings, and provide service management support for service-impacting tickets.
- Investigate hardware failure alerts and capacity performance issues.
- Attend weekly technical meetings and capacity forums.
- Further personal skills through on-the-job training, self-study, and knowledge assimilation from team engineers.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rota.
- Receive training for the role and provided courses for development.
- Receive remuneration for out-of-hours work, including service incidents and planned changes.
Requirements
- Extensive senior Infrastructure Engineering experience.
- Ability to work with high levels of accuracy and under pressure in a controlled, structured environment.
- Proficiency in recognized ITIL and project management principles (waterfall and Agile).
- Hands-on experience administering NAS.
- Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with ITSM practices: ITIL, Change Management, Problem Management, Incident Management.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members.
- Full and practical understanding of EMC products.
- Experience supporting and scripting DSM Shell for Isilon.
- Good knowledge and experience of PowerShell Rest API tools and programming scripts.
- NAS migration experience.
- Pure Storage Administrator experience.
- DELL EMC VPLEX, DELL EMC Unity, and DELL EMC VXRail experience.
- Commvault, Cisco MDS administration and configuration, Cohesity Maintenance/Support experience.
