About the Role
This role focuses on improving patient experience by identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in healthcare processes, such as referral management and scheduling. The Product Manager will work closely with front-line staff to understand operational challenges and implement solutions, with a high degree of autonomy and a direct impact on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Map actual work processes across clinics and operations, including undocumented workarounds.
- Identify and quantify process bottlenecks affecting time, revenue, and patient flow.
- Determine whether to build, buy, or automate solutions, and lead their implementation with cross-functional teams.
- Prototype AI-driven solutions to rapidly test new ideas.
- Write PRFAQs and short specifications to facilitate decision-making.
- Roll out changes across 27 clinics, train staff, and measure effectiveness.
- Own key performance indicators such as time to first appointment, prior authorization turnaround time, clinician administrative time, and patient experience.
Requirements
- Experience observing user interactions and adapting plans based on those observations.
- Ability to quickly build functional prototypes when needed tools are unavailable.
- Skill in communicating complex trade-offs effectively to diverse stakeholders (clinicians, engineers, executives).
- Proactive in resolving ambiguity.
- Ability to build trust with frontline teams by actively listening and providing helpful solutions.
- Proficiency in using AI tools and forming opinions on their application.
- Demonstrated ability to work backwards from the patient experience.
- Willingness to prioritize patient well-being and dignity.
- Experience with written decision-making processes.
- Ability to advocate for a point of view while remaining open to changing one's mind.
- Willingness to take ownership of problems beyond defined roles.
- Understanding that clinical decisions remain with clinicians.
