About the Role
Lead and grow the Core Platform — Storage & Streaming team, owning the platform and roadmap for the data infrastructure that P0 workflows across all of StubHub depend on.
Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and retain a high-performing team of database and platform engineers.
- Own the multi-year roadmap across streaming, NoSQL, and relational data domains.
- Set technical direction and drive key architecture and vendor decisions.
- Own operational accountability for governance, performance support, and incident escalation.
- Ensure compliance is designed into the platform (SOX, GDPR/CCPA, data classification, access governance).
- Drive execution excellence, including capacity planning, sequencing, and delivery.
- Establish clear SLAs and observability for shared platforms.
- Partner broadly across consuming teams, Legal/Compliance, Security & Data Governance, Finance, and engineering leadership.
- Shape StubHub's operational data strategy and represent the team in cross-org planning.
Requirements
- Experience managing engineering teams, including platform or infrastructure teams.
- Strong technical foundation in distributed systems or data infrastructure.
- Experience owning and delivering multi-quarter, cross-team programs or migrations end-to-end.
- Track record of hiring, growing, and retaining senior engineers.
- Experience with compliance obligations (SOX, GDPR/CCPA) or demonstrated ability to operate in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
