About the Role
Support the assigned Sales organization and customers during the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource.
Responsibilities
- Develop automation solutions (DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS) in response to customer specifications and URDs.
- Define system architectures, I/O counts, network topologies, and redundancy concepts.
- Prepare technical proposals, compliance matrices, and scope of supply documentation.
- Lead technical clarifications and value engineering during bid and negotiation phases.
- Support cost estimation, manhour planning, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Supply Chain through the bid lifecycle.
- Engage with EPC contractors, OEMs, system integrators, and consultants.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API, and project-specific standards.
- Advise on PMS, ECMS, cybersecurity, and remote operations requirements.
- Support technical handover from tendering to project execution.
- Stay updated on current automation trends: IEC 61850, BESS integration, cybersecurity, decarbonization.
Requirements
- Experience in Power Plants, Water & Wastewater, Oil & Gas, Renewables or Petrochemical EPC projects would be an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and SIS platforms; ABB portfolio familiarity is a plus.
- Strong skills in tender documentation, cost build-ups, and compliance matrices.
- Effective communicator in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
- Fluent in English; Japanese proficiency strongly preferred.
