About the Role
Manage claims, provide support in formulating, developing, and implementing reinsurance account management and claims disposition strategies, and offer meaningful case and coverage analysis within the Asbestos, Pollution, and Health (APH) team.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex reinsurance claims, including analysis and determination of liability, verification of claims against contracts, and resolution of disputes.
- Negotiate claims disposition and participate in mediation and/or arbitration.
- Participate in audits and provide insight on appropriate reserving to assist deal team in pricing.
- Create and manage cost-effective litigation budgets.
Requirements
- At least ten years of claims or legal experience, with strong casualty experience.
- Experience interpreting insurance contracts and coverage.
- Experience in handling latent direct insurance claims a plus; JD a plus.
- Ability and passion to manage a complex portfolio with critical analysis and innovative strategical thought.
- Leading by example in a Performance Culture that fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to identify areas of improvement, and a passion for implementing those.
- General knowledge of and/or exposure to other insurance disciplines i.e., contract wording, accounting, and underwriting.
- Confirmed ability to meet deliverables, implement plans, and conduct analysis.
- Excellent writing skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Data analytics skills and desire for further growth.
