About the Role
As an underwriter in the Extended Warranty department, you will lead the development and underwriting decisions for extended warranty insurance products, directly impacting the company's profitability. This role involves contributing to product design, sales promotion, and financial management for extended warranty, performance obligation, and comprehensive loss insurance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and underwriting of extended warranty insurance products.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to build and refine insurance schemes.
- Conduct underwriting decisions for extended warranty, performance obligation, and comprehensive loss insurance.
- Manage standard product management tasks.
- Engage in product development projects, including policy and rate revisions.
- Develop pricing and business cases for individual business opportunities.
- Communicate in English via email for global projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Project management capabilities.
- Ability to read and write accurate Japanese.
- Proficiency in Excel for business case development.
- Sufficient English reading and writing skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry.
- Proactive attitude towards new challenges and system development.
- Resilient and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in product management within a non-life insurance company is a plus.
- Experience in launching, operating, and reviewing new businesses of any scale is a plus.
