About the Role

In this role, you will ensure an adequate physical security level at our power plant sites and implement legal and internal company security regulations in the critical infrastructure environment. Simultaneously, you will be responsible for process management within the Reuter West power plant group.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular security inspections and effectiveness checks and update the security register of the power plant group.
Implement the central corporate security guidelines for physical security at the sites.
Plan, apply for, and realize individual measures for physical access and perimeter protection as well as preventive threat defense.
Manage access, entry, photo, and filming permits, as well as permits for UAS flights (according to §21h LuftVO), and support key management.
Manage the local video surveillance system, including access and operation management and technical maintenance.
Coordinate site regulations, align external service provider work regulations, and create other topic-related work instructions for the sites.
Serve as the central point of contact for corporate security and collaborate closely with projects, business continuity management, and service providers.
Report security incidents to corporate security and operations management and organize appropriate initial measures if necessary.
Be responsible for process management within the power plant group, systematically and continuously identifying, documenting, analyzing, controlling, and optimizing recurring workflows.
Participate in the overarching process management within the company.
Prepare for audits, provide technical support during audits, and create the required reports.
Support the creation and updating of integrated management system documents in the power plant group.

Requirements

Successful completion as a Master Craftsman for Security and Safety (IHK), a comparable qualification from a German security authority, or a completed degree in security management.
Experience with access control and video systems, as well as managing security personnel.
Knowledge of structural and technical measures for securing buildings and grounds.
Strong security awareness, and a structured and independent work style.
Analytical thinking with an interest in continuous process improvement.
Willingness to undergo an extended pre-employment screening and a security check according to the Security Screening Act (SÜG).
Willingness for further qualification as a process manager within the scope of the activity at BEW.

BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH supplies customers with electricity and heat.
Their district heating network is the largest in Western Europe with a length of over 2,000 kilometers.
They supply approximately one-third of Berlin's apartments with district heating.
With the expertise of around 2,400 employees, they cover the entire value chain of district heating, from generation to network operation and expansion to sales.
They are working intensively on phasing out coal by 2030 and achieving climate-neutral heat generation from 2045.
To achieve this goal, they will gradually increase the share of renewable energies and unavoidable waste heat in their district heating system.
This expansion requires a fundamental restructuring of many of their sites and facilities.
