About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on Riot’s Account and Identity Management team, you will build and operate persistent account and identity experiences, helping players manage their Riot accounts. You will work on capabilities such as account settings, Riot ID management, account linking, privacy preferences, parental controls, and account recovery. You will serve players worldwide and evolve regional solutions into global capabilities.

Responsibilities

Independently drive multi-month projects from discovery and technical design through launch and production support.
Collaborate with engineers, product partners, Player Support, and teams across Riot.
Write secure, reliable, well-tested services and APIs.
Contribute to a strong engineering culture through design reviews, documentation, and mentorship.
Develop and support workflow services used by millions of players.
Support mission-critical Java, Kotlin, and Node services at a globally distributed scale.
Partner with product owners and technical leads to build and operate features end-to-end.
Provide high-quality software by writing unit, functional, and integration tests.
Invest in team’s complete ownership of products by participating in on-call rotation.

Requirements

3–5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent expertise.
Experience with backend services and distributed systems.
Strong ownership, communication, and technical judgment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in a software engineering role (i.e. software, systems, architecture).
Expertise in Java, Kotlin, and some familiarity with Node.js / Typescript.
Experience with microservices architecture, client/service application architecture, API architecture and development.
