About the Role
Part-time Kitchenhand opportunity at HMAS Penguin, Mosman. Work in a unique harbourside location, with a supportive team environment, ongoing training, and career development opportunities within Compass Group. ESS Defence provides food service and hospitality support to Defence sites across Australia, delivering high-quality meals that support the wellbeing of Australian Defence Force personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties
- Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Support chefs and kitchen teams during meal service
- Maintain clean and organised kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required
- Work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team
Requirements
- Previous Kitchenhand, hospitality or food service experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and reliable approach
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
- All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory background checks including a National Police Check and Defence clearance
