About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will actively build up the manufacturing technology, transfer new mechanical, electronic, and optical systems from development to series production, and support existing products from a manufacturing technology perspective. You will act as a liaison between development, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality assurance, creating the conditions for reliable, economical, and reproducible manufacturing processes. You will have a direct impact on how we manufacture in a manageable company.

Responsibilities

  • Build up manufacturing technology as a specialized department and develop standards, methods, and processes for product industrialization.
  • Coordinate the transfer of new products and assemblies from development to series production and support prototype construction, pre-series, and series ramp-ups.
  • Create, review, and maintain manufacturing parts lists, ensuring they are complete, current, and correspond to the released product status.
  • Create and maintain work plans, assembly instructions, and other manufacturing documents, and coordinate testing procedures with development and quality assurance.
  • Plan and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes regarding quality, process reliability, throughput time, and manufacturing costs.
  • Evaluate new designs with development regarding manufacturability and assembly-friendliness and contribute improvements early on.
  • Coordinate the implementation of technical changes in manufacturing and ensure that parts lists, documents, and affected assemblies are aligned.
  • Analyze technical problems in ongoing production and implement sustainable solutions together with the involved departments.
  • Define requirements for assembly fixtures, tools, and testing equipment, and support their procurement, introduction, and use.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, production technology, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Practical experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or technical support of production.
  • Understanding of the interplay of mechanical, electronic, and optical components, as well as their manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining parts lists, work plans, and technical manufacturing documents.
  • Familiarity with technical change processes and proficiency with ERP systems and technical drawings.
  • Structured, reliable, and independent work style, combining analytical thinking with practical implementation skills.
  • Clear communication and close collaboration with development, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality assurance.
  • Very good German language skills (minimum C1) and good English language skills.
  • Experience in electronic, optical, or precision mechanical device manufacturing, especially with high-quality products (desirable).
  • Experience in transferring prototypes to stable small-batch or series production (desirable).
  • Experience in a quality management environment according to ISO 9001 and/or AQAP (desirable).
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, ideally SolidWorks, and PDM systems (desirable).
