About the Role

A busy, fast-paced family of 6 seeks a fantastic private chef to join them in January 2027. The role is generally Monday through Friday, 1-8pm, with flexibility for dinner parties and occasional events. The chef will have most school holidays off, but may need to travel with the family or accommodate extended stays in London, with advance agreement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, fresh, and healthy family dinners with seasonal, nutritionally balanced meals cooked from scratch, avoiding processed ingredients, refined carbs, and added sugar.
• Prep for breakfasts and weekend meals.
• Weekly menu planning.
• Thoughtful sourcing and purchasing of premium organic ingredients.
• Kitchen inventory and stock management.
• Maintain an organized kitchen.
• Ensure excellent food safety and hygiene.
• Regular expense reporting (at least weekly).
• Plan and prepare bespoke dinners for extended family and guests.

Requirements

• Experience in both restaurant (preferably Michelin) and private household environments.
• Longevity in previous positions.
• Professional and discreet approach.
• Confident with a range of international cuisines including Mediterranean, Japanese, Southeast Asian, and French.
• Comfortable preparing sophisticated, beautifully presented, and delicious meals for the entire family.
• Pitch-in, family-first approach, willing to help with general clearing and tidying of the kitchen, and to work collaboratively with the wider household team.
• Impeccable personal presentation.
• Flexible around the schedule.
• Available to travel with the family if required.
• Familiarity working with a busy family and around family pets.
