About the Role
LG AI Research is leading the AI transformation across industries through research and development of large-scale AI models, including EXAONE. The Data Governance team within the Product Unit is building an integrated data platform to systematically connect various research data, manage datasets, benchmarks, models, and experiment logs, and establish a data governance system covering data quality, versioning, search, access control, and sharing. We are seeking a Data Scientist to collaborate with researchers and engineers to define model and data challenges, and to contribute to data strategy, pipeline implementation, and performance verification.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an Agent-based Self-Improvement AI Pipeline connecting model evaluation, data generation/selection, and training experiments.
- Analyze benchmark performance and failure cases of Foundation Models to identify areas for improvement.
- Generate and refine synthetic and reference data for training/evaluation, and automate data quality control.
- Compare and verify performance changes based on data composition and training methods in mid-training and post-training processes (SFT, RLHF, RLVR), and establish improvement directions.
- Operate the AI Data Platform and enhance features such as On-Prem Data Storage, Data Versioning, and Experiment Tracking.
Requirements
- Understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with research and development experience in AI models and data.
- Understanding of the architecture of LLM-based Agent Systems and Agent Orchestration.
- Ability to define model and data problems, and improve performance through Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis.
- Experience collaborating with researchers and engineers to define technical tasks, and applying them to actual research or service environments through implementation and verification.
- Capability to enhance development productivity by actively utilizing Code Agents and verifying the quality of their output.
