About the Role
Join us in creating our next chapter at Fairmont Royal York, a historic Toronto landmark undergoing a stunning transformation for the zero-carbon century ahead. We are seeking individuals passionate about hospitality and driven by excellence to contribute to our esteemed institution and shape the future of one of Toronto's most treasured landmarks.
Responsibilities
- Complete all stewarding tasks as assigned and maintain the highest level of Fairmont Hotels.
- Keep all immediate work areas clean and free from debris while adhering to all health and safety procedures of the hotel and kitchen.
- Operate, clean, and perform general maintenance of all machinery and heavy duty equipment within the department, including the dishwashing machine and soaking tanks.
- Set up and organize dish room areas, keeping them free from hazards and debris.
- Perform general dishwashing and cleaning duties.
- Prepare coffee for banquets when required.
- Follow all health and safety rules as outlined by the department and the hotel.
- Ensure all ECOSURE standards and processes are completed daily, including filling out daily dishwasher/pot washer temperature logs.
- Uphold the highest standard of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be a highly motivated individual.
- Must have an understanding of written and spoken English.
- Must be flexible with shift work hours.
- Must be able to perform physically under pressure.
- Must be able to handle a hot working environment.
- Must be able to operate, lift, push, and pull heavy equipment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
