About the Role

Support the understanding of workflows in the holding company and its subsidiaries to identify opportunities for AI and automation to simplify daily tasks. Develop prototypes and smaller solutions with AI & Automation Manager using Python, APIs, automation tools, and LLMs. Prepare data, connect applications, and automate recurring tasks. Test solutions, gather feedback, and document results with user guides. Explore new AI tools and features, proposing relevant applications.

Responsibilities

• Understand workflows in the holding company and its subsidiaries to identify opportunities for AI and automation.
• Prepare discussions with employees, gather requirements, and help develop concrete use cases from initial ideas.
• Develop prototypes and smaller solutions with the AI & Automation Manager using Python, APIs, automation tools, and LLMs.
• Prepare data, connect applications, and automate recurring tasks.
• Test solutions with colleagues, gather feedback, and help improve them step by step.
• Document results and create understandable instructions for effective use of solutions.
• Explore new AI tools and functions and contribute suggestions for their potential use.

Requirements

• Developed own AI applications or agents (during studies, in a job, or out of personal interest) and can demonstrate their functionality and underlying decisions.
• Practical experience with LLM APIs, RAG, and using tools within agents.
• Knowledge of integrating data sources, providing context, and verifying results.
• Proficient use of AI-powered development tools for creating applications or agents.
• Sufficient programming skills, especially in Python, to understand, review, and independently develop generated code.
• Understanding of typical AI application challenges (unreliable answers, unsuitable search results, context window limitations, costs, and runtime) and experience in solving them.
• Stay updated on new AI developments and experiment with new models, frameworks, and tools.
• Ability to assess when an agent is appropriate versus simple automation.
• Work independently, address open questions early, and explain technical contexts clearly.
• Handle data and confidential information carefully.
• Very good German language skills and confident English for technical documentation and research.
• Demonstrate built projects via GitHub repository, short demo, or project description, detailing the problem solved, personal contribution, and lessons learned.
• Experience with locally operated models is a plus.
