About the Role
Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Liability Defense Practice Group in Austin, Texas. This role involves handling complex civil defense matters and offers substantial litigation responsibility, hands-on case management, and close collaboration with experienced trial lawyers in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload with partner guidance and mentorship
- Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage written discovery
- Appear in court and actively participate in trials and trial preparation
- Defend clients in trucking, premises liability, product liability, toxic tort/asbestos, and other general liability matters
- Work directly with sophisticated clients on complex, high-exposure litigation
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in Texas
- At least 3 years of experience defending civil litigation matters
- Experience handling trucking/transportation, premises liability, product liability, toxic tort/asbestos, or general liability defense matters preferred
- Strong skills in legal research, writing, motion practice, and discovery
- Experience taking and defending depositions and managing key litigation responsibilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and desire to grow within the firm
