About the Role

This hybrid sales and customer success role requires scientific depth to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them from initial conversations through ongoing engagement. Responsibilities include understanding customer goals, recommending assays, ensuring correct experiment setup, and translating results into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full customer lifecycle: prospecting, technical sales conversations, deal closing, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, understanding their protein engineering goals and recommending appropriate experiments (binding, expression, thermostability, enzyme activity).
  • Understand and explain assay capabilities in depth, including BLI, SPR, cell-free expression, and emerging assay types, knowing when each is appropriate and what the data means.
  • Collaborate closely with the biology team to ensure correct experiment design and clear communication of results.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of commercial opportunities across various customer segments.
  • Develop tailored proposals and quotes for customer needs, ranging from pilot experiments to large-scale data generation campaigns.
  • Represent Adaptyv at conferences and industry events, engaging in deep technical conversations.
  • Provide customer insights to the product and biology teams regarding assay requests, missing features, and reasons for lost deals.

Requirements

  • Scientific background in protein engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field.
  • Comfortable discussing binding kinetics (KD, kon, koff), expression systems, and assay design.
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., field application scientist, technical sales, scientific account management).
  • CRO or biotech vendor experience is a strong plus.
  • Commercially driven with a focus on revenue, pipeline, and closing deals.
  • Strong communicator adaptable to different audiences (technical scientists and business-focused executives).
  • Self-starter capable of managing their own pipeline and priorities independently.
  • Genuine interest in AI-driven protein design and the companies in this space.
