About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Motion Designer who is conceptually-minded and craft-forward to lead motion design work for major brands, focusing on a large client undergoing a brand reinvention. You will blend expertise in design and motion design tools with the latest AI tools, working hands-on and providing motion design leadership across a global agency.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Motion Design craft across all projects, leveling up work on traditional and AI-forward projects.
- Deliver award-winning motion design that strongly aligns with brief objectives and client/business goals.
- Work hands-on in design tools like Figma and After Effects, leveraging GenAI tools.
- Collaborate with the Design Director, US to enhance the design practice at Jellyfish.
- Collaborate daily with designers in the US and Mexico, leading some projects and overseeing junior team members.
- Contribute to fast-paced new business pitches.
- Act as a strong creative voice for design, advocating for motion-forward approaches.
- Share creative work with the Design Director and VP Creative for development and sign-off.
- Build relationships and influence with designers in the US, UK, and Mexico.
- Create groundbreaking visual ideas to promote brand engagement.
- Defend and improve ideas based on client feedback.
- Review work with leadership, incorporating feedback and directing the team.
Requirements
- 6+ years in a motion design role at a top advertising agency and/or design studio.
- Proven track record of creating high-craft client work.
- Enthusiasm for AI in creative work, supported by a strong background in creative craft.
- Expertise and awareness of digital, social, AI tools, and emerging advertising trends.
- Excellent team and client communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with global brands on high-profile campaigns.
- Proficiency with tools such as the full Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google suite, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Nano Banana, and other AI-driven creative solutions.
- Emphasis on skills, expertise, and behavioral attributes over traditional degrees.
