About the Role
Mold Maker supports the manufacturing of plastic injection molding by determining processing plans, fabricating, purchasing components, finishing, fitting, shutting off, and assembling precision injection molds to meet customer expectations and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Inspects all shut-off areas and critical dimensions and documents readings per ISO standards.
- Utilizes CAD/CAM data to efficiently process details and sequences.
- Sets up and operates machines (i.e., CNC Mills, Surface Grinders, and EDM’s).
- Assembles and finish fits all shutoffs using appropriate tools with direction from Tooling Engineer.
- Completes purchase requisitions for specific cutters, materials, and maintenance items.
- Organizes and leads the building of molds and fixtures.
- Reviews designs for manufacturability.
- Keeps good records and files during tool builds.
- Works with and trains apprentices.
- Completes tools in the quoted number of hours.
- Utilizes six-sigma quality tools to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.
- Maintains and supports processes, procedures & K.P.I.’s owned by the position.
- Reviews all procedures related to the job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”.
- Completes training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix” within the stated time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years of Mold Building experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, tool drawings, and fully utilize Master Cam software is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- Ability to work independently or on a team is required.
- 3D CAM experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Must be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government for export control regulations.

- Good computer skills, especially ability to navigate through Windows
- Master Cam software proficiency
- 3D CAM experience
- Ability to read blueprints
