About the Role

Harvey is seeking a Compensation Business Partner to manage compensation philosophy, principles, and practices for its international markets, initially focusing on EMEA and APAC. This role is crucial for shaping Harvey's global compensation strategy as the company scales, requiring close collaboration with People Business Partners, the Recruiting team, business leaders, and the broader Compensation team to ensure programs are competitive, thoughtful, and scalable across different markets. The ideal candidate possesses deep compensation expertise and strong business judgment, capable of analyzing data, advising on offers, and developing strategies for new or evolving markets.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with People Business Partners and business leaders on compensation decisions, including new hires, promotions, internal mobility, and complex compensation questions.
  • Build a strong partnership with Recruiting, advising on offers, market competitiveness, and candidate-specific situations.
  • Evolve Harvey's international compensation strategy, including geographic differentiation, market positioning, salary structures, and equity.
  • Provide equity expertise and translate Harvey's equity philosophy across markets with varying candidate expectations.
  • Research emerging compensation practices and talent trends, particularly in the AI market, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Conduct market analyses using compensation survey data and other sources, applying sound judgment.
  • Partner with the broader Compensation team on compensation cycles, benchmarking, band development, and company-wide programs, ensuring international considerations are represented.
  • Identify and recommend changes where US practices do not translate internationally as Harvey enters and scales in new markets.
  • Help build the infrastructure, principles, and enablement for scaling Harvey's international compensation approach.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in compensation.
  • Experience supporting international compensation across EMEA and/or APAC.
  • Experience working for a US-headquartered company, with a strong understanding of global compensation program design and adaptation for international markets.
  • Meaningful experience with equity compensation, including the ability to explain and advise on equity in markets with different norms and expectations.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation fundamentals including market benchmarking, salary structures, job leveling, offers, promotions, retention, and pay decisions.
  • Exceptional business partnership skills; ability to build trust and challenge assumptions.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with excellent judgment.
