About the Role
Impact Dojo is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, professional black belt instructor who believes deeply in the organization’s mission and who displays a record of achievement in effective supervision & management of youth, teaching martial arts skills and techniques, building positive relationships, and ensuring the safety and well-being of people of all ages. We are a growing corporation and need an instructor who has experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 18.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students, provide martial arts instruction, and ensure a safe and fun learning environment.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Provide daily martial arts instruction to students aged 4-18 with varying ability levels.
- Demonstrate martial arts techniques and explain their principles.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Supervise groups of students, managing behavior, health, safety, and security.
- Ensure student and team member safety during training and enforce rules.
- Organize and prepare daily lesson plans creatively.
- Utilize effective classroom management skills to foster an inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists on daily responsibilities.
- Adhere to the Impact Dojo Code of Conduct and company policies.
- Exhibit Impact Martial Arts Core Values.
Requirements
- Must be a professional black belt instructor.
- Must have experience working with children aged 4-18.
- Must provide constructive criticism.
- Must implement company curriculum.
- Must be a team player.
- Must demonstrate outstanding communication skills with children and parents.
- Must possess clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language skills.
- A child abuse clearance and criminal checks are required.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with children (e.g., tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer).
- 1-5 years minimum of Martial Arts teaching experience required.
- Knowledge and ability in your martial arts discipline.
- Ability to work effectively with others professionally at all organizational levels.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations requiring running and climbing stairs.
- Good physical condition to execute all responsibilities.
